The Nanuet Public School District is continuing to develop curriculum
maps in each of the K - 12 content areas. Curriculum maps present data about the
taught curriculum. These maps are tools that can be used as a guide to examine
curriculum, instruction, and assessment as well as the alignment of the
curriculum to New York State content standards. The maps are not lesson plans.
The development and refinement of curriculum maps is a work in
progress. The maps that are currently available for viewing are those
that have completed our review and approval process. We will be
continuously updating this site as more maps are ready for release.
All of our maps reflect our taught curriculum and are collaborative in
nature. Due to varying student needs and availability of materials all
collaborators may not be teaching the same content at exactly the same time.
Nanuet's curriculum maps include the following information about the
curriculum:
- Name of the Unit - Topic
- Big Ideas - The core concepts and processes that are the focus of the
curriculum unit.
- Essential Questions - What we want students to think about relative to a
content area.
- What Students Should Know - Content
- What Students Should Be Able to Do - Skills
- Assessment Evidence - Samples of ways in which students' learning may be
measured.
"Paperclips" may be found within each category. Paperclips are links to
additional information available on the Web.
When viewing our curriculum maps, please keep in mind the ongoing nature of
our work. We are constantly updating and revising our maps so be sure to make
frequent visits to our site.
